Drawing study / 01
A herbarium without a specimen label.
A fine branching structure carries small seed heads and narrow leaves. The drawing keeps the stem slightly off-centre so the space beside it feels active. Rather than make every leaf equally detailed, the marks gather at the joints and become quieter toward the edges. The result is a study in growth and interruption: something observed, then gently edited. Look at the long empty intervals between branches. They hold the composition together as much as the ink does.

Asymmetric stem · fine contours · open intervals
This is an intentional crop of the same drawing. Compare its dense areas with the open paper. That relationship is the starting point for the composition.
