Imagined portrait of Elias Rook

Fictional artist / Engraved stories

Elias Rook

Elias builds places that do not quite exist.

A small image can hold a whole world.

Elias works with the visual logic of a print: lines gather into shadow, then open again into light. The imagined practice moves between objects and impossible landscapes. A tiny house becomes a place to wonder about; a moth becomes a map of texture rather than a symbol with a fixed meaning. The drawings ask for a second look without making every area equally busy. In a design conversation, Elias would begin with the story an object suggests, then identify the one detail that should carry it. A weathered roof, the edge of a wing or a turning line of water might be enough. The collection is an exploration of narrative drawing on paper, not a record of completed tattoos.
